The Income Tax Department carried out 'Survey Operations' at BBC's offices in Mumbai and Delhi. I-T department officials told PTI that the 'surveys' were related to allegations of tax evasion and transfer price irregularities. The department is looking at documents related to business operations of the company's India arm. The I-T Dept 'Surveys' come just weeks after the BBC aired a two-part documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The opposition launched an all-out attack at the Centre over searches at the BBC offices with the Congress calling it an undeclared emergency.
