'Internal security threat NOT poll compulsions...': Why PM cancelled farm laws

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's surprise decision of repealing the three farm laws has been linked to upcoming state Assembly polls in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh but is it really poll compulsions that forced the prime minister to go back on the contentious legislation? Experts however say that the decision has more to do with internal security situation than the elections as the Centre is concerned over situation in Punjab where not only Pakistan has been airdropping weapons but there is a growing discontent among locals against the Union Government.
