Kolkata hotel fire deaths: ‘Only one entrance, exit…’ | Police on 2AM blaze that killed at least 9

At least nine people were killed after a fire broke out at a hotel in central Kolkata in the early hours of August 19, police said. The blaze erupted around 2 am at the five-storey Shikha Inn hotel on Mirza Ghalib Street. Four fire tenders were deployed and the fire was brought under control after several hours. Police said the victims included six men, two women and a child.
