After Amarinder Singh's resignation, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will decide on Punjab’s new chief minister. Punjab Congress MLAs, after holding CLP meet, authorised Sonia to choose a new CM for the state. The decision on the new chief minister is likely to be taken today by the Cong top brass. Amarinder Singh resigned as Punjab chief minister, saying he felt ‘humiliated’ at the way the party handled the infighting in the Congress state unit.
