Rahul gets two years jail for ‘Modi common surname for all thieves’ comment

A Surat Court today held Congress MP Rahul Gandhi guilty in a 2019 defamation case. It was filed by a BJP leader before the Lok Sabha election over Rahul's remarks on PM Narendra Modi's surname. During a rally in Karnataka's Kolar, Rahul Gandhi had said that all thieves have a common surname Modi. The court granted Rahul bail soon after he was sentenced to two years in jail.
