No Russian gas for Europe after G7 nations agree on oil price cap

  • On the day UN inspectors checked the Zaporizhzhia power plant in Ukraine amid fears of nuclear disaster, Western countries and Russia stepped up energy wars on each other. First the G7 countries decided to 'urgently' put a price cap on Russian oil imports in retaliation for the Ukraine war. Following this, Russian Energy giant Gazprom decided to delay the reopening of gas supplies to Europe, blaming a technical fault in the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
