India and Russia have highlighted growing economic cooperation across trade, energy, fertilisers, nuclear power, technology and industry. During meetings in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the strength of bilateral relations, while External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said economic cooperation has grown “very significantly.” Russian officials said bilateral trade increased 8% in the first half of 2026, with expanding cooperation in machinery, aviation, railways, space and nuclear energy. Jaishankar noted that India-Russia goods trade has risen from about $13 billion in 2021-22 to nearly $60 billion in 2025-26, while both sides seek to address the trade imbalance and reach $100 billion by 2030.
