Putin’s Birthday ‘Gift’ To Ukraine: Russia Unleashes Back-to-Back Missile & Drone Attacks

Russia launched waves of missiles and drones across Ukraine on October 7, striking Kyiv and other regions as President Vladimir Putin marked his 74th birthday. The attacks killed dozens of people, including children, and caused damage to residential buildings, industrial sites and energy infrastructure, according to Ukrainian officials and Reuters. Pryluky in the Chernihiv region suffered one of the deadliest strikes, while fresh attacks continued into October 8. Kyiv has condemned the barrage as one of Russia’s most severe recent attacks. The strikes underscore the continuing intensity of the Russia-Ukraine war as winter approaches.
