At least nine people were killed and over two dozen injured in a powerful explosion at the Nowgam police station in Jammu & Kashmir late November 14. The blast occurred while police personnel, forensic officials, and revenue officers were handling confiscated explosives seized from a recent terror probe connected to the Red Fort car blast in Delhi. Prashant Lokhande, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, addressed the press, stating that an initial investigation suggests the explosion was accidental, likely triggered during evidence sampling.
