Revenge Or Cover Up | Pakistan Blames ICC For Missing Indian Flags In Its Stadiums

A major controversy erupted after fans noticed the Indian flag missing from stadiums in Pakistan ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Viral videos from the National Stadium in Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore showed flags of all participating teams—except India’s. This sparked outrage, with many speculating that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) deliberately omitted the Indian tri-color in response to BCCI’s decision to not send the Indian team to Pakistan. However, after widespread backlash, the PCB clarified its position. According to a statement given to The Hindustan Times, the PCB said it was following an ICC directive that only four flags—those of ICC, PCB, and the two competing teams—would be hoisted on match days. This means that since India isn’t playing in Pakistan, its flag may not be displayed at all. Was this an intentional snub by Pakistan or just a rule imposed by the International Cricket Council?
