Russia's new Yak-130M is attracting interest from Africa and Asia as Moscow pitches its upgraded trainer as a capable lightweight combat jet. The aircraft adds an AESA radar, electro-optical targeting, precision-strike capability and potential beyond-visual-range engagements, while its manoeuvrability could also make it useful against drones. Vietnam reportedly selected the Yak-130M in August, while Kazakhstan, Algeria, Iran and Indonesia have been named as potential buyers.
