Shoot-at-sight orders in Sri Lanka, 8 dead in Negombo clash | 5 updates

- Weeks long protest against food and fuel shortages caused due to the economic crisis has culminated into deadly violence in Sri Lanka. On Tuesday, Sr Lankan defence ministry gave shoot-at-sight orders to the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy personnel. They have been asked to open fire on anyone looting public property or causing harm to others. 8 people have died and nearly 250 people have been injured in the violence in Colombo and other parts of the country.
