In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Arfiya Eri, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives of Uyghur heritage, sheds light on the plight of the community facing genocide in China. Eri talks about various aspects of Uyghur life while living in different parts of China. Eri also said her experiences as a member of the Uyghur community have motivated her to push for greater diversity and inclusion in Japanese society, long perceived as highly homogenous.
