BJP veteran Suresh Khanna, the finance minister is a man for all seasons. He sits next to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath in the U.P. assembly, headed the BJP’s manifesto committee and now, as FM, is tasked with allocating funds to meet the promises party made to the people ahead of the 2022 U.P. elections, in which he himself recorded a ninth consecutive win from Shahjahanpur. He first won in 1989 and hasn’t changed his constituency since!This despite the caste profile not being in his favor. “I worship my people,” is all that he offers when asked about the secret of his wins that came even when the political winds were not favorable to the BJP.
