Sikkim Hosts First-Ever Himalayan Yak Festival in Gnathang Valley

Sikkim’s first-ever Himalayan Yak Festival kicked off in Gnathang Valley, near the India-China border, on October 28. Organised by the state’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department, the festival aims to promote yak conservation, boost high-altitude tourism and support sustainable livelihoods for pastoral communities in border villages.
