Tension in Telangana’s Nizamabad after clashes over Shivaji statue installation

- The BJP, among others, staged a bandh a day after two groups pelted stones at each other in Bodhan town of Telangana's Nizamabad district, over the installation of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Following the incident, Section 144 was imposed in the town. The town's security has also been beefed up in the aftermath of the bandh call. According to Hindu activists, the municipal council approved the installation of the statue at Ambedkar Centre in Bodhan, and no objections should be raised to it. While the resolution was passed, AIMIM and TRS activists stated that no legal steps were started, hence the statue could not be placed. For additional information, see this video.
