Neeraj Chopra bagged a historic gold medal in the men's javelin in Tokyo Olympics. He became independent India's first athlete to win a medal in track & field discipline. English-Indian athlete Norman Pritchard had won 2 silver medals in the 1900 Games. Chopra threw a distance of 87.58 in his second attempt to win the gold medal. He became the 2nd Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal after Abhinav Bindra.
