Why Tokyo 2020 was a dream come true for India's 1st Olympic fencer Bhavani Devi

  • India’s first-ever Sabre Fencer to compete in Olympics, CA Bhavani Devi spoke to Hindustan Times’ Avishek Roy as her journey in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 came to an end. Bhavani Devi won her first match against Tunisia’s Nadia Ben Azizi but lost her second match to Rio Olympics semi-finalist and World No. 3 French Fencer Manon Brunet. Devi created history as she took Indian Sabre Fencing to world stage. She got candid in this chat & told Hindustan Times how it was her mother’s dream to see her fence in Olympics & she played her matches in front of her mother. Watch the full video for more details.
