Trump announces sweeping tariffs for all countries exporting cars to US on ‘liberation day’

United States President Donald Trump announced the first set of sweeping tariffs on April 2 which he dubbed as “Liberation Day” for his country. Trump said U.S. will charge 25% tariffs for all auto imports, and the tariffs will be effective from midnight.
