Trump’s approval crashes to 31%: is the Iran war becoming his biggest political disaster? | Midterms

Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 31%, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, as the Iran war, rising gasoline prices and economic dissatisfaction put pressure on his presidency. With Democrats leading Republicans in the generic congressional ballot, concerns are mounting ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. Trump has threatened Iran’s energy infrastructure, putting Kharg Island, a critical hub for Iranian oil exports, in the spotlight. Meanwhile, reports about MAGA allies discussing martial law in the event of a disputed election have raised further political questions. Trump’s endorsement of Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election and protests in Albania over a project linked to Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump add to the controversies surrounding his administration and family.
