Emmy Awards | Big win for Game of Thrones and other highlights

Fantasy drama “Game of Thrones” won the Emmy award for best TV Drama on September 20, toppling old favorite “Mad Men” for the win. It was the first best drama series Emmy for “Thrones” in its five years on the air. The show also won awards for writing, directing and for supporting actor Peter Dinklage. “Mad Men,” a long-time Emmy favorite, failed to get a farewell hug after closing its final season earlier this year, but did see a win for Jon Hamm for his lead role.
