Hours after leaders of the West pledged modern tanks to Ukraine, Russia launched massive missile strikes targeting major Ukrainian cities including capital Kyiv. The Ukrainian Prime Minister said Russia fired at least 55 missiles, most of them aimed at the country's energy infrastructure. He added that some power substations had been hit and that the main power grid remained under control. Emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv after the attack. At least two energy facilities were hit in the port city of Odesa where residents reported power blackouts and interruption to water supply.
