Jordan’s King Abdullah II delivered a powerful address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, denouncing the ongoing suffering in Gaza and the decades-long denial of Palestinian rights. He condemned Israel’s military campaign and settlement expansion, called the occupation a flagrant violation of international law, and urged world leaders to move beyond speeches to concrete action for a just resolution. King Abdullah called for the protection of holy sites, a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian aid, and support for a viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Stressing that Palestinian statehood is a right, not a reward, he underscored that peace and security can only be achieved through the two-state solution and equal dignity for all.
