President Donald Trump delivers a solemn Thanksgiving-eve address after two National Guard soldiers are shot in an ambush near the White House, condemning the attack as an act of terror and vowing the Afghan-born suspect will “pay the steepest price.” He links the shooting to wider border and vetting failures, announces 500 additional troops to protect Washington, DC, and urges Americans to pray for the critically wounded Guardsmen while pledging to “make America totally safe again.”
