At a recent press conference in Delhi, Roman Babushkin, Charge D'affaires at the Russian Embassy, and EV Griva, Deputy Trade Representative, highlighted the depth of the Russia-India strategic partnership as both countries celebrate 25 years of strategic ties and 78 years of diplomatic relations. Babushkin underscored ongoing high-level contacts—including recent calls between Putin and Modi and active intergovernmental dialogue—and praised joint achievements in energy, trade, and cultural exchange. Griva emphasized that Russian oil remains critically important to India due to its competitive pricing and volume, predicting continued strong cooperation despite Western pressure and sanctions. Both officials stressed that the relationship is resilient in the face of external challenges, with trade multiplying sevenfold in recent years and new joint projects in energy, infrastructure, and culture driving further growth.
