Acting FBI Chief counters White House on Comey firing
Updated on May 12, 2017 12:18 pm IST
Pulled into the spotlight Thursday, the FBI's acting director Andrew McCabe testified before the senate intelligence committee. McCabe was stepping in where the recently fired FBI director James Comey was due to appear. McCabe undermined the white house's explanations about Comey's firing. Left uncertain, the FBI's probe into Russia's election meddling and possible ties to the trump campaign ... an investigation the trump administration says is small and relatively unimportant. Defending a shifting story on Comey's firing, the White House insisting that trump's confidence in his FBI director had, in fact, been eroding for months.
