Afghan grand council pitches for talks with Taliban, offers ceasefire

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, while addressing a grand council meeting, said that he wants the nation to be the host for its own peace. Announcing the release of 175 Taliban militants on the occasion of Ramadan, Ghani also said that the government and the security forces were ready for a ceasefire, but it can't be one-sided. He also appealed to the Taliban to be ready for talks in the nation.
