The death toll from catastrophic flooding in southeastern Australia has climbed to four after a man was found dead in a car submerged by floodwaters on May 23. Three days of relentless rain have cut off entire towns, swept away livestock, and destroyed homes, leaving streets and vehicles submerged and forcing many residents to seek refuge on rooftops.
