A sensational report has put the spotlight on the undue influence exercised by the United States on Pakistan. According to investigative non-profit The Intercept, Washington helped Islamabad secure the much needed IMF bailout package in return for a secret arms deal that facilitated supply of weapons to war-torn Ukraine. The report even claimed that it was the United States which pressured the Pakistani military to engineer a no-confidence vote against Imran Khan in April 2022 over his ‘neutral stance’ on Ukraine.
