Blow To China As 'Dangerous Separatist' Wins Taiwan Presidential Poll | Who Is Lai Ching-Te

Taiwan has elected Lai Ching-te of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as the new President. Lai served as the vice president of Taiwan since 2020 and is known as a strong opponent of China. China had urged the people of Taiwan to not vote for Lai, calling him a “dangerous separatist” and an “instigator of war” for advocating Taiwan’s independence.
