Egypt condemns Israeli actions in Lebanon as Cairo pushes regional de‑escalation talks

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty condemned Israeli actions in Lebanon on Thursday, as Cairo stepped up diplomatic efforts to contain escalating regional tensions. Speaking after a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Baabda, Abdelatty said Egypt rejects ongoing violations undermining Lebanon’s “security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Footage shows the two officials holding talks before addressing reporters. Abdelatty said he conveyed a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who criticised Israel's “reprehensible and utterly unacceptable ground incursion.” He added that Cairo is coordinating with multiple international partners, including France, to de-escalate tensions.
