Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has launched a sharp attack on Brussels, rejecting an EU-backed plan to channel up to $800 billion to Ukraine over the next decade. Speaking from Budapest, Szijjarto said Hungary would not send a single forint of taxpayers’ money to Ukraine, accusing EU leaders of already spending hundreds of billions to finance the war and a “corrupt regime” in Kyiv. Szijjarto warned that Brussels is trying to pressure Hungary into compliance by backing what he described as a “puppet government” loyal to EU demands. He stressed that such funding can only be approved with unanimous consent from all EU member states, which Hungary opposes.
