Iran has become an official member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) after fifteen years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who chaired the SCO meet formally welcomed Iran as its newest member. PM Modi also stated that Iran's entry will bolster trade and commerce and India's Eurasian outreach.
