Iran is reportedly ramping up pressure on Hezbollah to ensure the group joins any future war with Israel, rather than remaining on the sidelines. Ynet reports that Iran’s top diplomat visited Lebanon in January in what was seen as a calculated move to push Hezbollah toward direct involvement in the next conflict. During the visit, Abbas Araghchi is said to have secured assurances that Hezbollah would not stay out of the fight if a new war erupts. According to the same report, Iranian financial support to Hezbollah has surged over the past year, surpassing one billion dollars in funding.
