Japan flaunts first hypersonic missile: scared of becoming China's target after Taiwan?| Type 25

Japan has publicly showcased its Type 25 Hyper Velocity Gliding Projectile, marking a significant step in the country’s growing defense capabilities. The hypersonic glide weapon is designed to strengthen Japan’s ability to protect remote islands against potential attacks and military landings. The system was recently demonstrated at Camp Fuji, offering a rare glimpse of its launcher and field deployment procedures. The development comes amid heightened tensions between China and Taiwan and growing security concerns around Japan’s southwestern territories, including the disputed Senkaku Islands. Japan’s expanding missile capabilities reflect Tokyo’s increasing focus on regional security and potential future military contingencies.
