Mexico strongly criticized regime change efforts by external actors during a United Nations Security Council meeting, warning that such actions violate international law and historically worsen conflicts. Mexico’s UN representative Hector Vasconcelos stated that foreign вмешательство undermines political stability and social cohesion. The remarks followed a US military operation in Venezuela, during which President Nicolas Maduro was detained on narcoterrorism charges. Venezuela declared a national emergency, accusing Washington of targeting its resources. Russia, China, Colombia, and African nations condemned the action, while the US described it as a limited law enforcement operation.
