Nawaz Sharif hints he may be arrested, jailed

Former Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif has hinted that the authorities might arrest him soon in the wake of the growing strains between his party Pakistani Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the military establishment. Another challenge facing his party is the defection of a growing number of leaders, many of whom have joined Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Sharif was disqualified for life from office last year by the Supreme Court of Pakistan after the Panama Papers leak disclosed that his family holds millions of dollars worth of companies and properties in the UK, and other countries.
