The Israeli team negotiating has reportedly expressed skepticism after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added new conditions to the hostage-ceasefire proposal that is already on the table for negotiation with Hamas. Sources close to ongoing talks told Kan broadcaster and the Ynet news site that "he thinks that if he hardens Hamas’s positions he will break them, but he’s taking a dangerous bet on the lives of the hostages."
