New US bases, old Cold War fears: Is Greenland becoming America’s Arctic outpost? | Trump, Denmark

The U.S., Denmark and Greenland have signed a new Arctic security agreement that will expand Washington’s military presence on the strategically vital island. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has stressed that the agreement does not cede Greenlandic sovereignty, while Donald Trump has described the pact as giving the U.S. permanent control over Greenland’s security.
