PM Modi chairs Cabinet Committee on Security meeting amid Iran crisis, gives these directives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) amid escalating tensions in the Iran conflict and its global repercussions. The high-level meeting focused on safeguarding India’s economic and energy security as oil prices surged past $100 per barrel and concerns over gas supply disruptions intensified. During the meeting, the government discussed a range of short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities. Special emphasis was placed on securing alternative sources of fertilizers for farmers and diversifying imports critical to sectors like chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals. The government also explored expanding export destinations to boost Indian trade resilience.
