Amid the raging Ukraine-Russia war, the new International Criminal Court president, Tomoko Akane, expressed her belief that Russian President Vladimir Putin will face justice for war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine. The development was reported by the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun, citing an interview the ICC judge gave to Kyodo News.
