A group strike operation was conducted by Russian forces to destroy Ukrainian airbases on June 27. According to a statement from the Russian Defence Ministry, US-built F-16 fighter jets were scheduled to be stationed at the Ukrainian airfields. The Russian military claimed that it attacked the Ukrainian airport infrastructure using drones, long-range sea-based weaponry, and hypersonic Kinzhal missiles. Watch
