After Sweden, the Holy Quran was desecrated and burned in Denmark. A Danish far-right anti-Islam group burned a copy of the Quran as well as the Iraqi flag in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen. A Danish group called "Danske Patrioter" (Danish Patriots) waved anti-Islam banners and chanted insulting slogans against Islam. The incident triggered massive protests in Iraq. Hundreds of protesters tried to enter the green zone, likely to attach themselves to the Danish Embassy, but police personnel controlled the situation.
