- British-Indian MP and UK PM hopeful has found support of former British cabinet minister Michael Gove. He endorsed Rishi Sunak for prime minister and announced an end of his frontline political career. Gove said that he knows what the job requires and Sunak has it, dismissing his Conservative colleagues who have predicted Truss to be the winner. "Rishi put the strength of the state at the service of the weakest. I know he always will," he said. His statement came a day after Sunak said he is excited to keep going in the Conservative Party leadership campaign even as surveys of party voters predict a firm lead for his rival, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.
