Russia slams ‘biased’ Iran resolution as U.S. envoy brands Tehran lawless

At a tense U.N. Security Council session, Russia’s ambassador Vasily Nebenzya accused the United States and Israel of “aggression” against Iran and condemned a newly passed resolution as biased and one-sided for ignoring what he called the root causes of the current escalation. He argued that it is “impossible and unfair” to discuss attacks in the region without acknowledging U.S. and Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. In response, U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz blasted Iran and its allies for “lies” and “lawlessness,” insisting that Tehran’s strikes were brutal and indiscriminate, and claiming that Iran’s attacks have pushed previously divided nations to “speak with one voice” against Tehran.
