Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the Kremlin will not disclose details of President Vladimir Putin’s nearly five‑hour meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff, stressing the talks are “focused on results, not on external appearances.” She dismissed Western coverage claiming Moscow rejected US proposals, calling the conversation “useful and constructive,” and used the briefing to attack the EU’s “moral authority,” accusing Brussels of weaponising human rights and ignoring alleged abuses in Ukraine while selectively pressuring other states.
