Russia is planning to upgrade all its naval warships and vessels amid the recent surge in Ukraine's sea drone strikes. The decision was taken after the recent July 16 and 17 attacks on the Russian navy and Kerch bridge connecting Crimea with the Russian mainland. The European Times, quoting historian Dmitry Boltenkov, reported that the upgrade will be a mix of "observation—optical, radar, hydroacoustic—which creates a protective contour around each ship."
