Saudi's 'Anti-Israel' Step Amid Gaza War Leaves U.S. Embarrassed; To Host Summit Of Arab Nations
Published on Feb 08, 2024 01:24 pm IST
The Times of Israel reported that Saudi Arabia is hosting a summit of five Arab nations tomorrow on the future of Gaza after the war ends. Foreign ministers or diplomats from Qatar, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan have been invited to the summit. Furthering an united Arab stance on Israel's war against Hamas and discussing Israel's integration in the Middle East region, provided it agrees to lay a framework to the creation of an independent Palestinian state, are on the agenda. Palestinian Authority president, Mahmoud Abbas, is also likely to attend the summit. Saudi's move comes a day after it issued a fiery response to the U.S., claiming that there will be no normalisation of diplomatic relations with Israel unless it ends the war in Gaza. Watch.
