Watch | A village where cats outnumber humans
Updated on Oct 22, 2016 08:01 pm IST
The small island of Aoshima , off the coast of Ehime Prefecture in Japan, is home just 15 villagers but more than 100 cats. Some of the cats are owned by villagers but most of them are wild and can be seen prowling the island or roaming abandoned buildings on the 4km island. The news of the island's feline population has turned it into something of a tourist attraction with cat lovers travelling far and wide, to feed, stroke and take selfies. With no restaurants or shops on the island and only two small ships making the trip back and forth each day, it's not the most obvious holiday spot.
