Watch | Couple from Maine wins U.S. wife carrying competition

The 17th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship was held in Maine, USA. Every year, up to 50 couples compete in the competition along a 278-obstacle course up the grassy slopes of Sunday River for cash prizes and beer. This year, Elliot and Giana Storey of Westbrook, Maine compete against 43 couples to win the race. The winning couple won the title by finishing the race in 59.18 seconds and took home 11 cases of Goose Island Octoberfest beer and five times Giana's weight in cash that totaled $665. As the new North American Wife Carrying Champions, Elliot and Giana qualify to compete in the World Championship in Sonkajärvi, Finland, next summer.
